Post flap surgery question - weird pain

Following unsuccessful margins, I had op 2 on 25 May. This included reconstruction surgery which the surgeon said would take the form of a chest wall perforator flap (I think). This was quite painful for several days following, but when I went back for “wound clinic” last Monday it had settled down nicely. The nurse said the wound looked good and I am due to go back on 7th June. Three days ago (Thursday) I noticed an increase in pain deep within the boob but assumed I might have pulled it a bit by turning over in the night as I woke up on my side. The last two nights I have done my best to sleep flat. However, the deep pain seems to be increasing … although, it only attacks me when I stand up. Boob is still swollen but not red or hot. I can’t feel anything under the skin, like liquid, and gentle touching/rubbing just brings a slight sensation of soreness. I am wearing my special Hospital bra 24/7 and only take it off to wash myself (I do have two!).

I just wonder if anyone else has experienced the same thing? The pain is hard to describe but maybe like being stabbed (not that I ever have been, luckily) and this morning was enough to pretty much take my breath away. Breast unit is obviously shut today which leaves 111, which I have so far resisted phoning as if possible I would prefer to speak to someone in the bc field. I really don’t feel like the wound is infected and wonder if this is just part of the nerves etc coming back to life and sorting themselves out? I feel fine apart from that, just a bit tired. Any input would be most welcome, thank you.

Hi I had this type of op too, at the beginning of June, started radiotherapy today,

I think what you are experiencing might be the nerves coming back , my consultant referred to them as fluttering or zaps.

Good luck
