Post op discomfort + tired

WLE SNB 6 days ago, doing the exercises no problem, wound is healing well, they tunneled up to nodes and that is where I’m tender, sort of bruised feeling, how long should I expect this to last? I do feel silly mentioning this, I realise some of you are feeling a lot worse than me. I did stop the Ibropufen on Sunday but continued with Paracetamol, I know the meds info says to wean off them but scared if I stop, I will have actual pain. Also I’m still pretty tired still, is that normal?

In my experience yes, perfectly normal! I took paracetamol at least once a day for about two weeks I think. Like you they tunnelled up for the nodes and it was that part that was most tender.

In my literature it said I wouldn’t need pain relief after three days - utter twaddle  I know some ladies may bounce back quicker but I just thought if I need painkillers I’m going to take them. Being in pain and trying to muddle through can be worse as you stiffen up and will be less likely to move freely.

That’s just my experience, and others may think differently, but I think 6 days in and feeling like you’re feeling is perfectly normal  Good luck with your recovery

Morning cruising,

Bruising and tissue tenderness is quite normal im afraid, mine lasted about 6 weeks. There is no need to stop the paracetamol at the moment, if you feel you need them, then take them, perhaps, one am, one mid day and one late evening, thats what i did and it helped alot without the fear of addiction. Tiredness is the norm, just be kind to yourself , rest and nap if you need to. All of this well get better in time.
Sending gentle hugs

Hey @cruising

Try not to worry the way you are feeling is perfectly normal . It took me well over a week to feel myself and some people much longer. I also managed with just Paracetamol and thought that I would take the Ibuprofen just if needed. It’s quite common for the SNB area or axilla to feel worse than the lumpectomy wound as well . Can’t say how long it will last but try not to put too much pressure on yourself and take it easy if you can. I’m impatient and tried to get back to normal activity too soon - whilst trying to rush somewhere 3 weeks post- op when I wasn’t ready to rush I fell over on a road I’ve walked up and down a thousand time and hurt my rotator cuff and it hasn’t ever been quite the same. Just listen to your body xx
