post radi8tors!!

post radi8tors!! hi ladies,
how are we all doing? ive been away to ireland to my nieces wedding. it was wonderful, had a fantastic time, weather great. looked very posh in my dress and hat!! haha. a good time was had by all.
glad to say that broken skin and weeping under arm and breast has cleared up. but got a lot of pain round the scar area under my arm and on my booby. also feeling very tired still, which i see that some of you are also experiencing. i am also very emotional and irritable, a bit like pmt. and lots of aches in bones and joints. wondering if this could be side effect of arimidex? would like to hear from anyone taking arimidex having any problems. in some ways i feel worse now than when i was having treatment. got an appointment with my surgeon in august, then see oncologist in november. does this seem quite a long time or is it about right?
just want to say good luck to everyone finishing treatment and its good to know we can all still be here for each other.

Glad you enjoyed the wedding Glad to hear you enjoyed the wedding. I too am still feeling tired but it is getting better. I’m on Tamoxifen. not Arimidex so not sure about side efffects.

I go to see the oncologist in 2 weeks time (which will be about 6 weeks after the end of radiotherapy).

I had a really nice letter from the breast care nurse this morning, to say don’t feel abandoned and to contact her if I have any worries at any time.

Good luck to everyone still undergoing treatment. Take care

Lots of love

post radi8tors hi anniek glad to hear you had a great time do not know how far along you are i am eighteen months post op had chemo and rads I am also on arimidex and yes i do gets lots of bone and joint pain oncologist said it is the side effects of taking tablets. also still get tired very easily, i get irrated that i cannot do the things i used to.i am not very patient. Doc said it could take up to two years before start to feel normal. I did see my onc every six months and surgeon the same. I have now been giving a years appointment between seeing surgeon and eight months for onc. good luck take care val

Arimadex… Hi

Ive been on Arimadex and Zoladex for 2 months now and have had the aching joints, neck, head, knees in fact everywhere, Ive just tried to get up of a sun lounger and felt that I looked like my Grandma used to
& Im only 46 years old.!!

Ive also had some problems with swelling of my feet ankles and legs, I posted a question on but havent had a response. When I checked with my GP he said that he hadnt heard of swelling but after going
onto Arimadex’s website they say that it is a reaction…

Ive been told that all these little niggles do settle down…so heres hoping!

Hi Great to have you back and I’m so pleased you enjoyed the wedding.
I’m struggling with tiredness too and have had a few “blue” days but the sun seems to have cheered me up today so I’m fine.
Can’t help with arimidex (or tamoxifen) but I’m expecting an appointment with the onc in about 3 to 4 weeks. I have appointments with my plastice surgeon and the breast clinic in August - which is 6 months after my op.
Seems about par for the course in this area.

It’s nice to hear from everyone again.

Keep smiling.

post rads Hi Ladys, I must still have chemo brain as i didnt realise this after treatment was here, its just been pointed out to me,DURRRR.and i have just realised thats me now.

Well im 9 days post rads, still tierd but not haveing to have afternoon cat-nap,but i carnt sleep very well at night.I still have dry cough and have been told i should see onc six weeks after treatment.
I was concerned about my breast as my nipple looks bruised and i had a slight disharge, and i have a solid lump under scar,my whole breast looks twisted but i have spoke to breast nurse and she ensures me its the norm so im not worrying about it now.
When do you get told your in remision and how do they know?.
hope you are all well luv Bluebell.

Hi everyone Hi ladies,

Hope everyone is OK.

Bluebell - I go to see the oncologist tomorrow (5 weeks after finishing radiotherapy) so will let you know what happens.

My boob that had rads is quite a bit smaller now than the other one, very firm and quite perky. The other one is still heading south, so looks rather odd.

The tiredness is easing off now and I’m feeling more positive about everything again.

Take care all

Love
Mollie xx

appt Hi Mollie,
How did you get on with your appt with the onc ?
My boob has settled down a lot,the swellings going down and its peeled,my nipple area went like it was very tanned but that has all gone and the skin is lighter than my other,i see my onc 18th july, bluebell.

All OK Hi Bluebell,

Saw the oncologist and she was really pleased with everything. She made an appt for me to see the breast care nurse in 4 months and then will have another mammogram etc.

I’m on Tamoxifen and the side effects seem to be easing. She said it’s worth perservering, at least for 2 years as most of the benefit comes in the first 2 years, so I will carry on.

It all seems a bit surreal now, but I feel much more positive and ready to move on now. I am sure I will still have the odd wobbly day here and there.

Good luck to you and to everyone else undergoing treatment,

Lots of love
Mollie xx
