Post RT discomfot

So I’ve read through numerous posts and spoken to my BC nurse and although I understand it is ’ normal’ to have some discomfort 3-4 months post- treatment,  no one seems to be able to offer any advice as to how to manage the discomfort, or even when it might go.

I’m totally fed up with a very sore nipple which I’ve had for over a month now.  My BC nurse doesn’t even want to see it, putting it down to late RT side effects.  The only advice I’ve had was to try ibuprofen gel and/ or  silk cloth in my bra. I’ve been doing the latter for weeks now but the gel had no effect. It feels rather like a paper cut- really painful but with nothing to see. It is affecting even basic things like walking, let alone my sex life!  I just feel no one is interested and totally unsupported

Does anyone have any experience of this and/ or hints of how to manage this?

Advice gratefully received!

So sorry no one has yet come on who has had a similar problem. I think it might be worth while talking to one of the nurses here, either posting or phoning. I know you said your BC nurse isn’t very receptive, but what about your Onco, or your GP? Totally get how frustrated you are . It’s not enough to battle this disease but now it’s the system! Sending gentle hug, and hoping you get help soon. ?
