It all just flies by doesn’t it! I think when we’re in the thick of active treatment/recovery it is so easy to look after ourselves yet when we’re back in limbo again it’s so easy to let slip and I think most of us here are probably guilty of that. Don’t be too rough on yourself though, maybe just a gentle change tomorrow like one less coffee or tea or switch one out for a decaff version or add a few extra veggies in to your day
its hard as it is when you’re working lots. Sending love xx
Yeah, I looked in the mirror yesterday at the puffiness, dark circles and breakouts (it always shows up on my face!) and thought, wait a sec, isn’t this exactly the kind of lifestyle you didn’t want to go back to? I always try to do this major overhaul, which, as you say, was quite easy to do with that external driving force, then it ultimately fails if that driving force starts to become more distant. I think you’re right and those smaller, gentler changes over time are going to be more sustainable in the longer term.
Focusing on the step in front rather than the whole staircase has never really been my strong suit when it comes to making positive change for myself so thanks for your kind and wise words and it sounds like you’re doing well. Good luck with your appointment! x
I’ve never been great at just focusing on the step in front of me either I’m abit more like a bull in a china shop bulldozing around ![]()

I’m really trying my hardest to slow down and go abit easier kn the hope it will be a long term thing. I read with the specific BC I had it was hormone driven so one of the worst things I could do us yoyo diet which means I need to find a way to get out of that habit!!
Shows on my face too, I can always see it akong my jawline and neck it just goes puffy!
Thank you
I’ll keep you all updated after my appointment xx
Short walks mixed with gentle resistance bands helped me rebuild strenght without overdoing it, and I paired that with podcasts like Feel Better Live More for a bit of calm structure. On lighter days, I even used a rectangular trampoline in the garden to get my heart rate up without lifting weights, and the soft bounce felt kinder on my upper body while I eased back into a routine.
