I was diagnosed April 2023 IDC ER/Her2 pos and finished my treatment october 2024 (4 x EC chemo, mastectomy flat closure, Herceptin 9 doses, then Letrozole 11months). Now, at age 67, I have suddenly become allergic to fish in a bad way (hives, swollen eyes/throat) and now I am reacting to the sticky tape the hospital uses to stick down the pad put on ones arm after a blood test. Could these extreme reactions be related to my treatment in any way? Its just come out of the blue and each reaction is needing weeks of fexofenodine and special eye drops to clear up.
I’m sorry to hear this and sadly have no answers. I will be interested to see any replies as I seem to have possibly developed hay fever for the first time this year - itchy eyes, sneezing, dry cough. I finished my chemotherapy last October. I am on Letrazole and Abemaciclib so i dont know if it’s them
Hi Tulip29
Thank you for posting. It sounds like you have had a difficult time with allergies recently. An allergy is the immune system’s response to normally harmless substances. It is difficult to know why you have started to experience these reactions, but they are not a known side effect of the treatment you or @pat have received.
