This may seem such a trivial issue, but now after all my treatment which included chemo and radiotherapy, I wanted to really perk myself up and try and improve the appearance of my skin on my face. When I went to enquire about laser treatment for ‘brown spots’ I was told I couldn’t have it. Can anyone tell me the reason for this? They seemed unable to do so at the clinic. I am getting very self-conscious about my face and now use my lovely new grown hair to hide myself. Carrie
Hi Carrie
I went to try and have something done once and they wouldn’t touch me knowing that I’d had treatment quite recently. I think you have to be at least 2 years on or they won’t touch you! I may be wrong though.

Thanks Ruby. You are probably right there, although she didn’t actually ask me how many years post treatment I was. I may try to find other treatment which is non-laser…perhaps I am just being too vain now!
I would find out whether they will do it for you at some point - if it’s just a matter of time, find out how much time as I’ve had laser treatment in the past and it’s just great. I think I’m going to look into it too soon as I’m now 2 years on.

I think it’s probably to do with letting a good period of time elapse. I went to Center Parcs after my first lot of chemo and there were strict guidelines about going for spa treatments like massage and stuff, so I expect this is the same.
I’d like to get my legs done as I have really bad thread veins on my ankles and the front of my legs. I can only wear skirts in the winter on account of being able to wear really dark tights and opaques. I’d like to get them done before I’m 50 in 2 years time.
Thanks everyone. Going to enquire again today and I shall ask whether or not I can have therapy after a period of time has elapsed. If I cannot, then I will focus on the fact that I am still in remission and have a lot to be thankful for…xx
