I have had 6 cycles of chemo and Phesgo neo adjuvant treatment after being diagnosed with triple positive breast cancer in Nov 25. Phesgo is ongoing at 3 weekly intervals. Next up was wide excision surgery with sentinel node excision. Having had a very bad reaction to chemo I was dreading the surgery.
First after the chemo ceased, I started to feel more human. I was still apprehensive about the surgery. In the event it all seemed to go well. Post op I was up and moving within a couple of hours and I have to say I have had no pain or discomfort. I feel so well it is difficult to remind myself that I am supposed not to do things. I can move my arm freely on the operated side . ( The surgeon was able to do both procedures through one excision). He came up after surgery to have a chat. So just to say, for anyone facing the same, from my experience so far 5 days on, it’s nothing to worry about. I feel the most human and normal since before treatment started. For info I am 74 so no spring chicken!
Having a shower was a challenge but I managed to use a plastic apron wrapped around like a boob tube with my right arm holding it in place. ( Right breast was the guilty party) Seemed to work. Not perfect but ok.
At the moment though I am wondering if anyone can advise on appropriate deodorants.
