Like that one !! Just had fish and chips and sitting wondering whether to open the gin ! The first week after chemo I can’t touch alcohol but make up for it after.
I have been treating myself to raspberry cream turnovers from Sainbury’s and last week I bought a pack (2 in a pack!) and when I got to the check out she said it’s buy one get one free !!! So guest what ! - I ate the lot but they were good !!! All my clothes getting tight but what the heck ! but then again I would just like to lose a few pounds. I walked a bit more this weekend and actually thought I’d lost a couple of pounds but when I got on the scales I’d put 4 on !!!

Hi fellow gluttons!!! LOL!
Well, a got in from chemo yesterday with a ravenous appetite. Reckon they must of doubled my IV steroids without me knowing! Anyway, spent the best part of 2 hours reading take away menus and drooling!!! Ended up ordering a chinese as my urge for one was just overwhelming! Much to the despair of my lovely boyfriend as he’s diabetic and a chinky always plays havoc with his blood sugars! And he had to pay for it as well!!! Oh, I did enjoy it though. Mind you, still managed to get stuck into a Cadburys Dairy Milk Crunchie Bar later on!!! Oh the shame!

I always feel like a freak as I’m actually hungry at the hospital while having chemo - troughing sandwiches. One of the nurses had baked a banana cake yesterday which went down a treat!! My sister same with me and thought I was very strange to be hooked up to drugs, veins collapsing all over the palce asking for another slice of cake!! Dear me. Also managed to go to the footie last night after treatment and polish off own body weight in chips and chicken. Hooray! Am shattered today however…

This is so great talking to ladies who are eating themselves out of house and home. For most of my adult life i have always been on one type of a diet or another, or thinking about what I can or cant eat. I am normally a savoury food type of girl, crisps, cheese & crackers, but I seem to be picking up on chocolate since my first chemo, and yes I love that remark about the fruit and nut being 2 of my 5 a day. Mind you, there is an unopened bar of toblerone in the fridge, mmm, or I may have some tea first and treat myself afterwards. Its so liberating being able to eat what I want when I want, although I think theres a little guilt person inside watching me when I indulge, but they sooon get flattened with something tasty and the feeling goes away.

maybe instead of a healthy living day we need to get BCC to arrange a Hungry Hippo Day, it would have every type of chocolate and every cream cake under the sun?
What else could we have on this glorious day?
Anne, that was me about the fruit and nut, just pointing out what others may not of thought of, got to help you along some how! ha ha
p.s. cant believe this thread is still going, think its made alot of people happy!

Hi Fellow Munchers
How great is this ? I saw my Oncologist Friday evening, and as usual was weighed by the Nurse. I approached the scales with some trepidation, as I have been eating the contents of a large Supermarket since the last time I saw her - only to be told I’ve actually LOST weight !
This means that not only can I continue stuffing my face, but I can eat MORE !!!
much love
Julie (who is fast approaching the 50 stone mark)
xxxx
Well Julie, so what if it is 50 stone, your happy and thats what matters, im so jealous that your eating loads and losing, im on some mad exercise program and loosing a pound a week, and without stuffing my face!!!

It has happened…two pairs of trousers are too tight… this thread will have to stop…all this talk of food, wish I had never started it…HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!
Yes this is all your fault! everyone just gets hungry reading through all of this!
My hubby has just been out and bought me a mega bar of Galaxy, so am gonna scoff that tonight watching tv, after my big bowl of spag bol with garlic bread. My pjs are getting a little bit too tight, gonna have to go out and buy a bigger pair shortly.
Keep it coming ladies, makes us all laugh and boy, don’t we need it.

I know what you mean about eating loads - I found myself buying dougnuts today from Tesco - 6 pack…
I ate one, then another and thought best save some for tonight, had the third after lunch…so much for willpower…ate the fourth whilst making dinner…started to think really shoud save some for OH, ate the fifth one after washing up…and yes you guessed it…eating the 6th one as I type.
Guess I was just hungry today…ha ha ha
Lynne
Thank god its not only me, I guess it was the steriods after my first, and so far only chemo, but my appetite seemed to take on a life of its own, I was eyeing up small children as tasty looking snacks AHHHH!
Everything gone back to normal now but I guess it will be back again after the next session, cant weight, get it !
Love to us all,
Tracey x
I love this thread am reading all the funny comments while sitting here hidden away from the family eating a lovely giant bag of maltesers!!!
Kim x
Trouble with maltesers is that you have to eat the whole bag - you don’t mean to but when you look there’s none left ! I am hoping I do lose some of the weight I’ve put on as found out through reading on this website that you put weight on with Herceptin which I’ll have later. I keep telling myself I should eat more healthier but the choc and cakes always win !!!
Brenda xx
Brenda - I havent put weight on and im on Herceptin and Tamoxifen. And at the end of the day who cares as long as your happy!!

Hi fellow munchers!!
Well, I only popped to sainsburys for a couple of ‘essentials’ earlier, and ended up coming out with an angel cake and some snickers ice creams!!! Then, to add insult to injury I took myself off to Argos and bought us a new Breville sandwich maker. I have been dreaming of various toastie sarnies for ages and just had to buy one!!!
As if all that is not bad enough my boyfriend is off to play golf straight after work, and I said he could only go on the condition that he picked up fish&chips on his way home!!! Oh the shame!! Of course, I would never have stopped him going but am chuffed that my threaat worked! LOL!!!
Now, whats for lunch???..
Kelly

Ha ha ha - nice one Kelly.
Ive been so naughty, I thought I would start being good today, brought my lunch, healthy sarnies and fruit etc. One of my team have just came in and said going to Greggs…hmmm I feel a doughnut coming on…so i caved in and orderd a one…how naughty! I have a big craving for doughnuts at present, going to tesco after work for some more.
Ya know how you have shares in Boots, I think I should look into Shares in Tescos…ha ha Well, rather that than have shares in Northern Rock!
Lynne
Northern Rock…that will be me soon…won’t be able to move. I was going to be sooo good today and it all went wrong…at breakfast…hey ho tomorrow is another day!
