Prescriptions - more than 1 month supply?

Hello

Just wondering if anyone is able to get more than a months supply of their prescriptions at a time?  I have been told only allowed 1 month of Thyroxine at a time and just wondered if that rule applied to Anastrazole etc too?

What is others experience? Would be nice to get more as always seem to be at the chemists! :open_mouth:

TIA

MM

I asked for, and get, 2 months at a time, as it is a real drag having to go to the pharmacy every month and you have to plan ahead for holidays… In a few months  i might ask for three months at a time and see what they say. Good luck. xx

I’ve been getting 2 months anastrozole since the beginning 2 yrs ago, so ask your doc if they would oblige. I did find that the various brands provided different side effects - you may have none at all - but keep a note of the brand and any side effects you do have. When you find one which really suits you, ask doc to name that brand on your prescription. Here’s hoping for no side effects for you. :catvery-happy:xxx

Hi

I take Thyroxine and get 2 months supply, but only 1month of letrozole. Plus other medication, am always at the chemist x

I had two months of anastrazole per script and now get 2 months exmestane per script - added bonus of 2 extra tablets per box!
To be fair I have a month of anastrazole sat in the drawer from when I was switched.

Hi mm I’m taking letrozole and thyroxine and the gp will only prescribe a month although having said that I have never asked so maybe they would we don’t pay for the prescriptions so it wouldn’t make any difference not quite sure love judi xxx

Hi everyone who’s posted,

I started on the standard 1 month supply but my doctor agreed to give 2 months supply of tamoxifen and thyroxine without any quibbles.

I can understand one month when you start but seems a bit strange once you have been on the med’s for awhile. Have you asked in the context of it making life easier (given the frequency of other med appointments, less trips to GP surgery or chemist, less impact re fatigue etc) - it sounds like you alll have. Maybe try again and see if your doctor has a change of heart?
