I feel robbed I was diagnosed with primary breast cancer in December, ten and a half weeks later I’m told I have secondary in my liver. So no mastectomy just treatment every three weeks. Just so overwhelmed
dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6793227/New-breast-cancer-care-save-500-lives-year.html . Saw this article it might be worth researching or discussing with Oncologist I am going to ask I am on letrozole and Ibrance 11 cycles now for secondaries in lung pelvis and spine. New treatments are helping people live with secondaries for much longer 15 years in some cases so I look at it as living with secondaries. I had primary 14 years ago .
Rachel, felt same here when diagnosed in March 2015. Straight from mammogram to secondary (in liver), 1 week… Just passed 60 treatments, every 3 weeks, and still showing no evidence of disease (fingers always crossed). Get as much help as you can… find a group of other ladies if poss (try through this site) and be kind to yourself. Don’t feel alone, as you really are not. Big hug and positive vibes to you x
So sorry to hear this , I had a very similar situation. Diagnosed in November and then secondary breast cancer confirmed in January. But this was back in 2013 and I’m still here ! On cycle 4 of my first ever IV chemo after keeping control of the cancer with hormone therapy and up until recently on a trial .So there is hope, I remember how hard it was at the beginning , be kind to yourself it will get easier x
Hello Rachel, it is an awful shock , there is no getting away with it. I am in the same position as you. I was told everything would be fine, small breast tumour, easy to treat etc. Until I had the op and within weeks I was told it had spread to my spine. That was 3 years ago and I am still here. We can’t change things so take one day at a time enjoy what you have , we may not live for ever but enjoy what you have and don’t spend too much time mourning we still have life in us,
