Hi I’m new on this forum and just wanted to ask a question. At the beginning of Janjuary I found a lump in my right breast, saw my GP who referred me to our local breast clinic and had ultrasound of both breasts to check them (I’m 25) which was normal. The consultant told me that it was most likely lump caused by my menstrual cycle but I don’t have one as have contraceptive implant and never had lumps with cycle before however as I had ultrasound which showed nothing assume this is correct and it is just fibrocystic tissue. However the lump is still there and I now have a bruised feeling around the nipple of this breast when touched. Probably unrelated and nothing to worry about but just wondered if anyone had any suggestions/info. Don’t feel I can go back to my GP at this stage as ultrasound was normal and don’t want to appear as over anxious person as I’m only 25 so know it is unlikely to be anything in particular but it is back of my mind slightly!
Apologies for the very long post!
Hi Miniwhizz,
It was good that your ultrasound was normal but I think that if you are still worried and as you say there has been a change, i.e you now have pain, that it is probably best to go back to your GP.
I’m not saying this to worry you as I’m sure it will be ok, but when you have niggling worries they can drive you mad!
I’m sure that any decent GP would rather see someone several times, if only to put their mind at rest.
Let us know how you get on, there are lots of lovely people on here who will give you positive vibes!

Miniwhizz - go back to your GP. As Esme says - if he is any good at his job he’ll be attentive and supportive. Medics in the NHS work for us - so you mustn’t worry about pestering them.
I had a lousy experience with a breast cancer specialist a few years ago who made me feel like a time wasting neurotic. I would love to go back now and smack him round the head with my prosthesis.
The chances are you are absolutely fine and it is nothing to worry about - most breast problems aren’t cancer. But ultrasounds and mammograms are not 100% infallible especially with young dense breast tissue. There are other tests they can do.
Please go back and see your GP so you can set your mind at rest.
