Hi had a Prostap injection 12 days ago and I’m aware of a lump in my stomach near to the injection site. Is this normal? I had lobular breast cancer and worried as I know the abdomen is where you can get recurrence. Thanks
Hi @kgiddy,
Thank you for posting.
It is understandable that you have questions about the lump you have noticed near the site of your prostap injection. Nearly everyone who has had a diagnosis of breast cancer worries about it coming back (recurrence) and you are not alone in having these concerns.
However, considering you had the injection recently and the lump is near the injection site it is much more likely that this will be the cause of your symptoms. It is not uncommon to experience skin reactions around your injection site including hardening and irritation. It is important to let your treatment team know if the area becomes red, hot or inflamed. They can assess it and may need to prescribe antibiotics if it is showing signs of infection.
