Pyogenic Granuloma

Hi I have been diagnosed with a Pyogenic Granuloma on the side of my breast that i had my breast cancer earlier in the year. i had a lumpectomy and 5 days of radiotherapy at the time and this has come up in the last couple of months. My GP has tried to treat it unsuccessfully and i have now got an appointment back with the breast care unit. I am seeing a consultant that deals with Onco-plastic and breast dermatology. I know i am probably worrying unnecessarily but im hoping she will be able to remove it at the appointment and its not anymore more to worry about.
I just wondered if anyone else has experienced anything similar?

Hi jow1

Thank you for posting

It sounds like a worrying time for you so it’s understandable that you are wondering if anyone has experienced something similar.

As your GP has been unable to treat this successfully, it is good to hear that you have an appointment see a specialist at the breast clinic. They will review your signs and symptoms and will discuss how to proceed in order to resolve this. We are unable to say if this will involve some sort of procedure on the day of your appointment.

Pyogenic granuloma is not something that we often hear about from women who have had treatment for breast cancer. However, you may want to post on this part of the forum to reach out to other women who may have experienced something similar.
