I hope it is ok to ask this question, but has anybody ever developed a secondary diagnosis within the bone of the arm, close to the elbow and if so,what were your symptoms.I am currently NED after primary diagnosis of ILC,PR+ER+HER+3,had 6 fec, rads, but no herceptin due to low LVF.I have a few aches and pains, nothing too alarming, but this arm pain is wierd,I haven,t banged it or anything like that,it is as tender waking up in the morning as it is all day,and although I can use it,it seems very weak, just wanted to ask the question,my very best wishes to you all…Longy x
Hello
I recently did a self diagnosis with bone mets! I had a pain in the elbow that was tiny and then very very gradually went further and then I could feel pain when lifting the kettle, then a cup etc. etc. Went to my GP and turns out I have tennis elbow - not that pleased about it but at least I know what it is. I did have a bone scan just in case.
Read up on tennis elbow and see if it sounds familiar. No sure for that either by the way but Voltarol cream is quite effective so far. You can have injections too if it gets really bad but not sure how bad “really bad” is in the grand scheme of things.

I have trouble with my elbow too.mx side and was worried. I have had it for about a year now and am sure it is arthritis. I haven’t been to doctor as I have arthritis in many joints the elbow is the latest. dx Dec 2006. mx chemo rads and 1 year herceptin. I know it is worrying every little twinge. I have to laugh at myself sometimes as I think to myself where will cancer manifest itself today. Every and I mean every time I get a twinge a lump from a midget bite a spot etc etc etc. I am convinced it is back. I am one of those not if it comes back but when it comes back. Despite this I am cheerful and happy. I have learnt to put my fear on the back boiler. I do not mean to minimise your symptoms and if you are really concerned go and have it checked out.Hope you get it sorted xx Eileen
Thankyou so much for your replies,I am touch wood fairly healthy and I dont flap easily as I know being 48 that aches and pains are bound to creep up every now and then, and am always on the go,I never often sit down,my choice, like to be busy, have the odd ache and pain, but the arm thing has really disconcerted me,as it is so painfully ‘there’ if that makes sense, shoulder and under arm muscles the same, and opposite side to where I had the original primary, will def mention at next check up in sept, and tennis elbow had never occurred to me can you believe,I am a bit dizzy at times, again massive thanks,Longyx

Don’t worry, I never thought of tennis elbow being a boney thing and always thought it was muscular - just shows how much we don’t know! Perhaps get some Voltarol cream from your GP and see how that goes before your checkup.
Hi
I really don’t want to alarm you, but I strongly think you should see your onc about your arm pain. My reason for this is I was diagnoised with secondary and primary bc at the same time. My secondary site was the left humorus just above the elbow joint. The pain I had at this site is very, very similar to what you describe. Please check it out.
