Question re injury to effected side

Last week I fell onto my effected side whilst attempting to get on my bike, lost my footing and fell straight onto ceramic pot, have probably cracked/broken or bruised ribs, area at top of hip/lower back to bottom of ribs went black/purple.
Dr’s have not sent me for x-ray as said injury does not always show up on them, but is sure of diagnosis…(even though after 3 phonecalls and discussions no-one has offered to examine me!)

My concern is that I maybe at risk of lymphodema in my chest wall or surrounding area after such a strong blow to area, I am experiencing a kind of feelng of fullness starting, but that my just be soft tissue damage I guess???

Has anyone any information please?

Karen

Hi

I fell on my scar 3 weeks ago. Hit it off the pavement. It is still painful and under my arm now is hard and also sore. Taking tramodal and diclofenic as remains sore. Doctor just said it could take weeks to heel. Getting worried now though as symptoms seem to be getting worse. Maybe like yourself it is time to call the breast care nurse.

hi karen
sorry to hear you fell over
i’ve manage to bruise ribs both sides since getting ld (combination of clumsy & lots of meds - not good!!) & it does feel different but hard to explain
for me, ld swelling feels heavy & dragging but ribs stuff feels inflamed & bruised (with a layer of lymph on top)
not sure if that helps?
& i get v tempted to breathe more shallowly which isn’t good as helps lymph system stay sluggish
i’ve got a fab craniosacral osteopath who looks after the lot, which really helps
jo, hope things are beginning to calm down - it’s a bu**er having to take the ld into account as well as everything else, isn’t it?

Hi norberte,
Thank you for that.
Ribs still feel bruised and very tender, and have a feeling of fullness under arm/side of chest/breast…not sue=re it is actually swollen though?? x
