Questions to ask at results appointment

Hi. I’ve been having test’s since 9th October and given my first lot of results on the 25th October where i was told i have duct carcinoma, stage 2, grade 3, in my right breast 23x34x20 and my lymph node is also cancerous. HER2 negative.
Then a further MRI showed up further lumps and 2 weeks ago i had biopsies taken from 5 further sites, 1 in the left but the radiographer feels that this site is ok but 1 (10mm) of the 4 on the right is cancerous and possibly 1 more (8mm) but the other 2 look ok. Also i have breast implants and the original lump is now invading the capsule.
I have an appointment this Friday for my results, and i was just wondering if there are any questions that i might not think of on the day to ask my consultant.
Im not worried about losing my implants as i just want these lumps out and to start treatment. Not sure yet if the further lumps are HER2 negative or positive yet.
Sorry for rambling on
Thanks

Hello sarah411

Thank you for your post.

It can be difficult to know what questions to ask at appointments. You may wish to take someone with you on the day or write your questions down and take them with you to the appointment.

At your appointment your latest biopsy results should be discussed and what your recommended treatment plan is. You may wish to ask why the multi-disciplinary team think this is the best treatment for you and if there are any different treatment options available to you.

Do call our helpline if you would like to talk this through or have any further questions. The helpline team have time to listen, talk things through and signpost you to more support and information if necessary. Your call will be confidential, and the number is free from UK landlines and all mobile networks. The number is 0808 800 6000, If you have hearing or speech difficulties prefix our number with 18001 and the call will go through Relay UK. Our helpline has access to telephone interpreters if language translation is required.

If you would prefer one of our nurses to call you. To do this, please complete this form by ticking the box agreeing to a call back.

Our usual opening hours are Monday to Friday 9am - 4pm and 9am -1pm on Saturday.
