I have never been interested in a reconstruction until now. Must admit I like the idea of havin the other one reduced as it is too big. I was asked by the surgeon if I wanted one in Jan and I said no. Do you have to have a scan first. How long do you usually wait etc etc thanks Eileen
I had immediate reconstruction with implant last July going in every few weeks to have it increased in size, then had to wait for 6 weeks for it to settle, I had a mammogram on other side during this time, then last week I had the permanent silicone implant put in and other side reduced to match as near as he could get (my surgeon was actually the breast surgeon not plastics) and I must say that I am thrilled with it already even though there is swelling especially on reduced size I can already feel and see the change and it has given me more confidence as I know that I am not lopsided - I swim a lot and have (no sorry that’s had) a large bust so this is important to me. Only you can make the decision, it’s your body so choose what you want - I had serious second thoughts about going under the knife again but am so glad I did it. Good luck whatever you do.
