questions

I am new to sharing my feelings on line about my cancer. I am 40, was diagnosed for the second time with breast cancer in May 2007. Had my mastectomy and reconstruction in June. Had a lumpectomy, chemo and radio when I was 32. Now decided not to have chemo again because only gives me another 3% (been given 90% chance anyway) according to the onconogist.
I have questions, but am afraid to ask!

Hi Deborah, have you spoken to your bc nurse about how you feel? or there is the “ask the nurse” on here, or you can ring the helpline on here, don’t be scared to ask questions. hope things go ok

Hi DJ,Well done you for sharing your anxieties.
I guess it was a recurrence in the same breast from your description. I am 40 also and had a lumpectomy in july and i waqs given only a 3% benefit from chemo and i decided not to go ahead. Like Alison says, talk to your BC nurse. Try not to worry, they will look at your new results and plan from there. It sounds like it was a small lump or/and a less aggressive cancer to have decided that chemo would be of little benefit!
Take care Julie X
