Quite lonely for under 40’s

Hi everyone, I’m currently in my first of four weeks of radiotherapy and I’ve met some amazing people but no one close to my age.

This has been the case since diagnosis.

A little part of me was hoping to meet some ‘younger’ women, possibly in the same boat.

I have a great support group within my family but it would be nice to meet someone closer to my age. To chat…to just see that I’m not alone!

Anyone know where I should start?

SAH mum of two (ages 4&1)

-lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy

-ER PR+ HER2-

-Clear nodes ??

-oncotype score of 18

-radiotherapy (20 sessions)

-my mum had a mastectomy (2017) &hormone therapy

Maybe Younger Breast Cancer Network on Facebook could point you in the right direction ?? There is also a Someone Like me service run by Breast Cancer Care which may be able to link you up with someone in a similar situation .

There is a young mum on here called Charliehedgy who is 34 and with 3 kids.

Maybe find her post.  xx

Hi nush82,

Did you find any of the suggestions useful. I’m under 40 and would like to join some support networks also

Hi Nush

I feel exactly the same. Its good to hear you have a nice family support, but it is always nice to talk to someone who has been through the same. I was diagnosed at 28 and had mastectomy within a month. Then chemo and currently having herceptin and on tamoxifen. Happy to chat ?

Take care,

Kimberley
