Radiotheraphy Weekly Checks!

Hi there

 

I wonder if some-one could please tell what happens during the weekly check during a 3 week course of radiotheraphy?  Assume I will see a radiologist?

Mine consisted of a quick skin check and short discussion about any other side effects or problems.

The appointments were with my oncologist. Did have to wait around to fit in both radiotherapy and the oncologist but overall not much of an issue.

Hope this helps.

One bit of advice I would give you is to ask about possible late side effects. I really wasn’t expecting certain side effects 6 months after finishing and wish I had been told.

Appreciate all the advice, my other concern is the drug. Dont know yet what one I will have, but the side effects sound so scary. I suppose the waiting makes it worse.  I received an appointment yesterday to see my surgeon in a years time. Never had so many appointments! Thanks girls for being there lol xxxxxxx

Hi there - I had my weekly checks with a senior specialist radiographer that I had first seen at my pretreatment appointment. She asked how I was finding the treatment, answered any questions I had and checked my breasts. I found it reassuring to have the time to chat with her as the daily treatment radiographers were working to such a tight timescale. Good luck with your course.
