Radiotherapy after surgery how healed does it need to be?

I am struggling with getting the last bit of surgical incision healed and am being called to start radiotherapy in two weeks. What is the timing to do radio, ie what is the shortest and longest time It can be left and how healed does everything have to be, I have a small area that has opened slightly, not infected, just around a stitch and is now about a cm or less. Also the rest of the scars are healed but still look quite red, not around it just the scars themselves, I wonder can anyone say how it needs to look before they start the radio? Is there a time when it is too late to do radiotherapy and it be effective?

@bee33, I have had a similar problem, which healing took a long time, I think you should contact your team, as you don’t want to delay further treatment, maybe give them a call tomorrow this would put you mind at rest.

Well done for getting this far with your treatment, wishing you lots of luck with radiotherapy, drink plenty of water and cream the breast well.

Health and happiness ahead with the biggest hugs Tili :rainbow::folded_hands::rainbow::folded_hands:
