I am due to have a phone consultation tomorrow with the oncologist. I am 7 weeks post op after lumpectomy. My oncotest was 11 so been told I only need radiotherapy. How long did you wait after surgery to start radiotherapy?

I had my surgery 26th March, Got my results 13th May, saw oncologist on the 20th May, radiotherapy planning session 28th May and my 5 days treatment starts next Monday 15th June. So 11.5weeks.

I just had my first radiotherapy session today. I’m 6 weeks post surgery. My oncologist wanted me to start last week but my breast surgeon insisted I have enough time to recover/heal before starting.

Similar. I saw the RO 4 weeks after surgery and started radiotherapy 4 weeks after that - so 8 weeks. Mine went really well and I wish the same for you!

Thanks everyone, I had my call and have my CT scan booked in for next Tuesday and they’ve said radiotherapy will start 7 days after!
