Radiotherapy and shielding

Hi

I was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer and had my operation 2 weeks ago. Thankfully I got the all clear 2 days ago. I’m having to have radiotherapy and are waiting to see when this starts.

When I was first diagnosed the whole house was told to shield for 2 weeks before and after my op. The breast cancer nurse said if I was only gonna be having radiotherapy we didnt need to shield anymore. I’ve spoken to a different nurse today and she thinks the whole house has to shield during my treatment. Could anyone please help clarify what I should be doing.

Thank you xx
