It’s exactly 2 weeks today since I finished radiotherapy and today I felt like I had my energy back.
I hope you feel less fatigued soon. I def found I felt worse if I didn’t keep my fluids up. You can still become dehydrated very easily for a few weeks after treatment so drink plenty throughout the day, this may help.
Hopefully your workplace will be understanding. You have been through a lot and are still healing.
Adding that long drive sounds extremely difficult! Hope it went okay for you…![]()

I had 20 sessions with a 30 min drive each way, and found that quite exhausting. If I hadn’t been working part time, I don’t think I could have managed.
yes i had the same which they said was normal, drink plenty and rest also ibuprofen was suggested. be kind to yourself xx
Dear cvd
Well done for getting this far with your treatment, radiotherapy can make us very tired. Please take good care, drink plenty of water, eat good food, a short walk each day will make all the difference, but most of all be kind to yourself.
As regards going back to full time work, I really don’t think you’re ready for that at the moment, You need more time, breast cancer and treatment is not a walk in the park you need time to recover. My suggestion is call you HR department, ask for your part time hours to be extended.
Wishing you well, with lots of happiness going forward.
With the biggest hugs Tili ![]()

Thank you for the support! I basically followed your advice and stayed part time for several weeks after. I have slowly crept back up to full time, but decided to just continue with my schedule of working until I’m tired and then just stopping. I won’t be earning a bonus this year but I’ve decided not to care. As long as I keep my job (and don’t overly burden my coworkers), I’m okay not being employee of the year.
