Radiotherapy starters for February

Hello ladies.

Im starting 5 days of radiotherapy next week . This will be 5 weeks after my therapeutic mamoplasty. I’m a bit nervous how my boob will hold out :crossed_fingers: . It is only just settling down from surgery. Full levels of energy still not returned either .

Anybody else starting radiotherapy in February? X

Hi @horselover

I had my planning appointment today, a dry run due on the 17th and start 5 treatments followed by 3 boosters on the 21st Feb.  It is very quick after surgery for you - I had my therapeutic mammoplasty back in June and had to wait 6 weeks just to get the results let alone sort out the next steps!  I had 3.5 months of chemo which finished in January.  It all seems like such a long slog.  I hope it all goes OK next week and I look forward to your updates :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi @horselover  @HR1  @@I had bi lateral mastoplasty last July - radiotherapy in September . I had only just healed in late August as I had a few healing delays but I found that my skin coped well with the 5 days . My new boob was warm but it was only when I wore a bra that was slightly too tight 4 weeks later that I had a bit of friction damage . Still notice a visual difference now ( darker ) took a few months to settle right down . Hope it goes well for you x

Hi @horselover  ,

I’m a (mid) Feb starter :slightly_smiling_face:

Had mastectomy in November, grade 2 lobular with node spread, but oncotype 16 so no chemo. I’ll be having 15 sessions.

Look forward to sharing experiences and advice!

Hello lovelies!

Im starting 5 days of radiotherapy on 27th! Ive had a double mastectomy and 6 rounds of chemo already and recently switched to 3 monthly Zodalex injections aswell as taking  Anastrozole daily.

I currently use Aveeno cream for my eczema so I am hoping if I show the lovely radiographers and nurses the ingredients they can give it a thumbs up as its the Dermexa (light blue lid) version.

How have you all been getting on?

Im a little nervous but looking forward to getting it done and out of the way! As ive been back at work for nearly 6 weeks now!

Wishing you all the best :two_hearts:
