Hi, I’m after some advice. I have had implants for about 11yrs, I found I had breast cancer in November. I have been lucky enough to of caught it early so had a lumpectomy before Christmas & my nodes were clear. I am starting radiotherapy in a couple of weeks and have been in formed it will be 3 weeks + 1 week targeted. They have warned me about scar tissue & capsular contracture. Should I have my implants removed or take the risk? Don’t know what to do.

I would ask your oncologist/breast care nurse for advise on that. Was anything said about having them removed when you had your planning appointment?
They said they would remove them before radiotherapy if I wanted but that would obviously delay my treatment or if/when I get capsular contracture they will remove them then. The problem is they will only remove them, I have explained that I don’t want more implants but would like a lift/tidy up so they don’t look like a couple of empty socks sat on my chest!! Which is why I saved & paid for the implants originally but they said they wouldn’t do this.
