I have just had the results from my surgery and been told the cancer I had was Condtroid breast cancer. Apparently this is very rare,as I found when I tried to google it. Has anyone heard of it and if so give me any information on it. Thank you
Hi Irene, not heard of that one and can’t find it via Google either , did they tell you anything else about it ? Mine was also a rare type called Tubular Xx jo
The breast nurse couldn’t tell me any more as she hadn’t heard of it either. I will just have to wait and see what the oncologist can tell me. I think I have heard of Tubular although don’t know anything about that one either. Had no spread to lymph nodes so that was good news. Just need to find out if I need chemo as it was triple negative. Hope you’re ok x
Yes thanks, coping fine. Had breast cancer 11 years ago, so not found it as big a shock this time. Just hoping I don’t have to have chemotherapy as we have a 6 week touring trip to Croatia booked for June and obviously won’t be able to go. Keep strong xx
Hi Irene will this help? ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2687638/ Although the metaplastic carcinoma with chondroid differentiation may not be your actual cancer, only they can tell you that - but the spelling of the differentiation is very similar to the term you used. You might want to use Google again to understand the context better. By all accounts - you may nearly be a one off! They are talking about a patient with that specific diagnosis further down. When something is unusual it might help to know as much as possible to ensure the right treatment. Good Luck!
Thank you, will have a look.
