Rash whilst on Chemo

I’ve now had 4 out of my 6 chemo treatments for breast cancer. After treatment No 3 I started to develop a skin rash. Shingles has been ruled out, and it’s described now as a rash associated with the chemo. I’m on Docetaxel and Carboplatin chemo. I’ve been prescribed steroids, 1% hydrocortisone cream and  Dermol Lotion, none of which have helped. Has anybody else had this problem and does anyone have any suggestions for what I can do. I’ll be talking to my Key Worker soon but I was interested if there was futher help out there from anyone who’s actually had this problem.

I would appreciate any helpful suggestions, before I go mad (oh, it itches as well!!!)

Hi Sue,

Whereabouts do you have it? Is it all over? I had a a rash on my back when I started losing my hair - folliculitis. Not sure why I only had it on my back as I’d never considered that to be a particularly hairy part of my body! Anyway it was very annoying for about a week and two areas became infected. Antibiotics cleared it up. Hope you find the answer soon.

Hi Tony, I had red skin which looked as though I’d fallen in nettles. E45 sorted it for me. Sounds painful, so hope you find help. X
