Hello, I have been on tamoxifen since 30 July . After 3 days I noticed red blotches on my ribs at the side (same side as surgery). It eventually spread to the rib cage at the back, still on the same side. My GP and breast nurse and radiotherapist don’t know what it is. I wondered if it may be the tamoxifen. Has anyone else had this?
I had various rashes when I started on Zoladex and Tamoxifen - having never had them before. I went off to the doctor a couple of times thinking that I might have shingles (was working with newly pregnant women) but it was generally assumed to be connected to the medication.
my mum developed a rash whilst on tamoxifen and it was stopped and she was changed to arimidex as they were worried about an allergic reaction… normally it would show itself much sooner if it was but i think they didnt want to take any risks.

I did wonder that if it was medicine related it would have been over my whole body. It doesn’t itch or bother me. I also have a haematoma above the scar tissue which isn’t going down at all and started about a week before blotches. I thought at one point it may have been something to do with that.
Was your rash only on surgery side?
