Help - has anyone got any advice? After being told my skin is holding up very well I’ve developed a rash under boob. It’s driving me crazy, itching like mad. . My Cetraben cream which has stood me in good stead so far seems to irritate it more. I’ll ask tomorrow morning when I go for next session, but in the meantime has anyone any suggestions? Thanks xx
I had the same intensely itchy rash Lesley - horrid. The radiotherapy team at the QE suggested putting the cream I use in the fridge - less than helpful at the time as I was going through boosters and wasn’t able to use a cream for fear of rubbing off the blue pen marks! Mine disappeared within days of finishing routine rads and starting the boosters. I stopped wearing an underwire bra as soon as mine appeared and swapped to cotton M&S camisoles - ok - I drooped but I cared not! Preserve - you’re nearly finished I think. X
You poor thing. Are you able to use e45, as it is so neutral? I’m not sure if there is a BC nurse on the forum 24/7 but maybe they can advise? Xx
thanks Janey and Jay, just popped my Catraben in the fridge. Haven’t worn an underwire bra since surgery. I’ve been wearing sports bras as my cut us down side of boob and all bras except sports ones seem to have a seam right where my scar is. Because non of the sports bras are cotton I was worried about Synthetic material drawing the skin while having rads so been putting a cotton hankie in bra while out and going braless at home.
Yes, Jay only two more to go, yay xx
Woohoo for tomorrow Lesley and I hope you are going to celebrate your last one. More importantly I hope the rash heals quickly. X
Thanks Janey, all ready to set off after cuppa. Nurse told me to use gel she gave me yesterday in case of skin break out on rash now. However, my nipple is really swollen and throbbing like crazy, really worried that it’s an jnfection starting. Will speak to radiologist this morning but it depends on which team I get (there are 6) some are more helpful than others. Can’t believe it’s my last one. Hope you’re ok and recovering nicely from op xx
Thanks Lesley. I hope you get the best of the 6 today and that there is no infection brewing. I hope all alarm clocks silenced for you tomorrow and you have same wonderful weather to relax in xx
