Hi. I am recently diagnosed with secondary breast cancer(after 20 years) in femur. It fractured. Urgent Total hip replacement, some of the tumour left behind. Started Ribociclib, but allergic reaction on day 3. Said no thanks to Abemaciclib. On Letrozole & Denosumab.
Any thoughts and advice. Tired, joint pain, hip pain but otherwise cracking on !

Sorry tomorrow read of your secondary diagnosis. I had my secondaries found about 18 months ago. I have been on chemotherapy since then I hope you get on well with your medication as I know many people do find it doable. I’m not able to help with your particular meds as I’ve not had them due to being TNBC. I hope that things go well for you xx
It’s hard to say no thanks to offered medication. But quality of life & ability to travel to Africa to see my family is so important to me. Especially now x
I understand. I’m finding it almost impossible to travel and I can see why you would want to avoid treatments that make that difficult when you have family to visit too. I do seriously think about stopping chemo sometimes as quality of life can be less than I would like.

Hi , i have metastic de novo breast cancer , to spine and bowel Diagnosed 2024 . I was started on ribociclib 2024 unable to tolerate drug even on lower dose after 4 months due to being neutropenic and also affecting my liver . I felt dreadful on this drug , started abemaciclib Nov 2024 Scans continue to be stable and have tolerated it well , much better than ribo , bloods always in range and manage to go on holiday I just stop the medication when I go away my choice as u take abemaciclib daily u don’t have the 7 day break like Ribo but continue on letrezole an zoladex . Hope this helps , may be chat to your oncologist before ruling it out completely x
