I wondered if anyone else had a similar experience and whether all turned out to be fine. I was diagnosed in January 2017 with ER+ breast cancer and had WLE, chemo, radiotherapy and ovaries removed and now on Tamoxifen. My first year mammogram results were clear but I went for my 2nd year mammogram on 11 Feb and received a letter today saying I’ve to return next Thursday for Magnification X-ray right breast which was the side I had treatment on. Could this just be precautionary to look at in more detail? Is it possible to have changes due to scar tissue and radiotherapy? I’m worried sick and looking for a bit of reassurance. Thanks, Elaine x
Hi Elaine,
Certainly others here have been recalled on follow-up & it has turned out to be ok.
It could certainly be precautionary & they need a closer look to be sure. I’ve just had my 3rd follow up mammo & the radiographer took an extra view of the treated breast to make sure that the clips in the area could be seen from another angle & all was well.
Although you need this like a hole on the head, at least they’re being thorough & hopefully, all will be well anyway.

Sorry I have only just seen your post from two weeks ago. I have read other ladies on here who have been recalled and it has turned out to be scar tissue as a result of the op and rads. I hope everything is ok with you
