I’m worried as I’ve been recalled for further mammo and ultrasound to my remaining breast. I had mastectomy, full ax clearance, (1 node affected), 4 FEC and 4 Tax, 15 radio and am currently on Herceptin and Arimidex.
Apparently they want to have a closer look at what appears to be a thickness of breast tissue close to my chest. My BCN says it might just be that I wasn’t positioned correctly during the mammo, but needless to say, I have the collywobbles…! I really don’t think I can go through all this again!
My appointments are for tomorrow afternoon, and I need some reassurance!

Hello Justme,
its very worrying to be called back and I do hope everything is going to be OK for you.
Its just about the same as happened to me about a month ago. My BCN was very reassurring and it did turn out to be thickened tissue. They were just making sure.
Good Luck for tomorrow and best wishes.
Margaret

Hi there Just me
Just left you a message on fb asking when you would be getting your results!
I have been thinking about you alot over the weekend, please let me know as soon as you get your results. You were such a great support to me, I have my fingers crossed for you.
Love Jules xxxx
Thank you Margaret, I hope I get a similar result! It’s reassuring to know that it might NOT be anything sinister.
Hello Jules, I’ve replied on fb. I suppose the ultrasound may give a definite result tomorrow, or they may decide to biopsy, I have no idea! I am next seeing my onc for my regular 3 week appt on 25 June the day prior to my next Herceptin, so maybe I will get results then. I’m really hoping that all will be OK tomorrow, because I can’t stand another wait for results.

Hi there D
Just read your message and was about to reply! lol will do it there! xxxx
hi justme, my sister was the same as you, recalled after 1st mammo following same sort of treatment, Christmas eve !!. had to have futher mammo and ultrasound, consultant told her there and then it was just thickening - they just take extra care with you because of your previous history. VERY frightening i know. All the very best x.
Many thanks for this flo12, I feel a lot calmer about it now, I do so appreciate your’s and Margaret’s input :))
I will let you know how I get on.
Hope you sister is doing well!

Sorry to hear that you have been recalled - everytime they want something more done it sparks the worry again. It may well be as they’ve suggested and they just didn’t get you right where they needed you in the machine - fingers crossed for a good result when you go back.
Update
Just back from hospital…with the all clear…Hooray!
Was getting the mammo done and the radiographer pointed out the area they would be looking at…the tail end of my breast that goes towards the underarm. I have a large mole there. Apparently this mole did not show up on the previous mammo, so they thought it was a new, possibly cancerous growth!
Had the mammo, then saw consultant for the ultrasound. He asked how long I’d had the mole - answer was all my life! He still did the u/s and all was fine.
So I might have lost 5 years off my life through worry, but at least I’m in the clear!!!
Thanks ladies for your support xxxxx
Hi Justme,
Just followed this thread through, was just about to add my good wishes when your last message came on - fantastic news. It’s always scary when they want to check something out. I’ll be having my mammo in July, and I’m determined that everything will be fine so there! Enjoy your summer girls.
