So many things I can relate to here. We ar startign to feel our wasy thorugh hw to dela with thigns and how to support eachother without losng sght of our own needs. We keep apologising to each other though, which is a bit silly! We have grumpy days, but then days where we actually laugh about it.
Yes, the waiting is so horrible, but I’m trying to take one days and one appointement at a time. On Tuesday i have another appt for get results re HER2 status (although from your experience I believe it might not be definitive til after operation?), and pre op stuff I think. Annoyingly i have somehow managed to pull or tear a muscle in my thigh which means I’ll be hobbling or wheelchairing to appointment. More bloody stupid timing/coincidence- managing mostly to laugh rather than cry.
Carribean sounds a fatastic idea!!!
It’s so horrible coming off HRT anyway,it must be awful for you coming off cold Turkey. Take care of yourself, and try to get advice about non hormonal alternatives x
Thank you so much x
I’m so sorry you had all the horrible UTIs again, but so glad you finally got back on the ovestin. I really want to try to stay on the vaginal oestrogen, I’m not sure how to state my case re this with consultant. I know many doctors now think that it is ok to do this.
Sorry also that your husband has his cancer too, really empathise. It’s such bad luck to be both going through things at the same time, but we really can empathise. Wishing you both all the very best x
Hi @nib32
They may be able to tell you, I guess it depends on whether or not they have enough good biopsy tissue? Mine waited until after the op because they tested on first biopsy twice and it still came back with a ? so, I guess it depends on their samples.
Fingers crossed for you. Either way, there’s a treatment path for you… good luck.
Bad luck with the limp!! Blimey
… take it easy, we don’t bounce so well off the hrt! lol!
Xx
Get on line and print off as much data as you can, then press your point -with evidence- with your own oncology team. Just remember, virginal estrogen is localised. There are lots of sources that now say that it’s not entering your blood stream to the extent that it will effect AI’s- so, press your point. If your symptoms are unbearable- they actually can’t stop you. You are quite within your rights to try it, and you could actually buy it privately. Obviously, it’s better to work with your team, but it might be worth reminding them that there’s nothing stopping you from getting it privately and trying it.
As with all these things, it’s an individual decision. It’s a judgment call you have to make based on your own experience/symptoms.
If your symptoms are unbearable, there’s a case for quality of life, surely??
Good luck ![]()

yeah, definitely not feeling bouncy! ![]()
So, triple negative it is! Doesn’t feel great, too tired to think what it all means really, will just take one day at a time, just focus on operation for now, and do what I’m told.
Good luck
You are right, each day at the time. Surgery makes a huge difference and you can feel your body repairing. Your medical team will offer you the best options to help and you need to choose what’s right for you. All the best x
Thanks Amafoss, yes I can’t wait for the surgery to be done, just want this thing OUT! I’m most scared about the chemo but trying not to think too much about it just yet. Thanks for your message and positive thoughts x
