Recently diagnosed chat with me??

Hello everyone, I am new to the site and was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer on the 12.08.15 since then everything seems to have turned upside down having to move home so I can be taken care of, sick leave from work. I recently had Mt first chemo session on the 04.09.15 and been ok so far. Is there anyone who would like to chat with me?? Love to you all going through this x

Hi I found a lump 7weeks ago and another lump 3 weeks ago in the same breast , tomorrow is my first appointment with a specialist to find out what these lumps are . I don’t have any lumps under my armpits but everything I’ve googled is pointing towards breast cancer . I’m only 48 with 2 children and don’t have a family history of any cancer but someone has to be the first . I’ve already had 2 tests for ovarian cancer and had a mole removed from my back a couple of months ago which have all been clear but how many more times can I get away with it .xx

Yes it’s all scary at first… well still is really. I’m 35 and have a lump in my left breast. I had a talk with the oncologist and did a 2 week trial on a drug called rucaparib which shrunk the lump by 2 mm which is a step in the right direction I guess. I’m very sore though as I’ve had 3 biopsies now my boob feels like a pin cushion!! I also had a bone Scan and CT scan which was all clear. I’ve had an injection to switch off my ovaries so the chemo doesn’t affect them so I’ve been told and hating all the blood tests and the chemo tube first going into you - not a fan of needles!!. As like you Lilly May no history of cancer in my family just guess I’m the first. I wouldn’t scare yourself with Google. I’d just listen to what the specialist tells you first and go from there. Keep me posted and healing wishes towards you xxx

This is my first time on this site which is odd as I’ve been through treatment for breast cancer and I’m now out the other side. I just wanted to say to you don’t give up! I was diagnosed in October 2014 at the age of 41. i have two children and one husband. my treatment was 6 rounds of chemo, surgery then to top it off 20 doses of radiotherapy. What a joy!! Now here I am with a flufffy head of short hair and back at work. To go through what your going through isn’t easy but you will get through it and come out the other side so much stronger. Wishing you all the best.xxx

Morning everyone. Had my mammogram and scan yesterday and ended up going through a core needle biopsy because they couldn’t drain off any fluid so it’s not a cyst, I now have a week long wait for the results what’s worrying now is that they couldn’t say what they thought it could be ? xx

Thank you so much Tracey, helped a bit just feeling quite lost right now but I’m fighting every step of the way xx best wishes to you too

Hi emz680 I was diagnosed in July and have had my first chemo session. I’m only 38 and have 2 young children. It does turn your world (and everyone close to you) upside down and makes you reevaluate the important things. Try to just focus on getting through it and not on anything else as everything else will have to wait till you are stronger. Ps trends wigs in Sheffield is a super place to go for a wig if you’ve not got one yet. X

Hi Lily May, I know exactly how you feel and fingers crossed it’s good news for you xxx I’m sorry your partner isn’t coping well. I hope this changes and he tells you how he feels. My partner (doesn’t live with me … yet) at first thought if I had space it would be ok but after now saying to him any questions just ask me if I don’t know I’ll ask the nurse seem to help him cope a bit better with it. Big hugs to you xxx

TraceyG hope you got good news. We all will get through this together ? xx

Hi emz my partner doesn’t live with me yet either he’s trying to be supportive bless him but he’s a big softy and gets upset. Its funny but the minute you think it could be cancer you’re bombarded with adverts on tv and radio about it and just seems to make it real , can’t think of anything else at the moment xxx

Forgot to mention I have to go back on Thursday for the results, absolutely dreading it xx hope everyone’s ok xxx

Sounds like we both the same Lily May Yes my bf is too bless them both. And yes cancer adverts on everything everywhere!!. Nothing new to report back yet got my obversations and blood tests on the 22nd September before second chemo on 24th. Where in the country are you if that’s ok to ask? Xx love to you

I’m in Northampton xx good luck for the 22nd that’s my partners birthday ? keep me posted on all your tests hugs to you x

Defo Lily May I will do and you as well. Happy birthday Lily May bf for the 22nd hope he has a fab day ?. I’m in Croydon in Surrey. Hugs to you too xxx

Morning everyone. Went back for my results yesterday and turns out my lump is a radial scar which they are going to remove on October 7th apparently a radial scar is rare and can hide cancer cells so that’s October planned for me ? just need to explain it all to my 14 year old daughter but don’t know whether I should tell my 8 year old boy. Any comments or ideas would be great xx love you all xx

Thanks Tracey I think I’ll do the same and keep it short and simple , how are you doing now xx

Just wondered if anyone else out there has been diagnosed with a radial scar or gone through the surgery and what the outcome was . Bit worried about my surgery on 7th October xxx

Guess not ? thought I’d try xx

Thankyou for replying gillyteacher . My son is a bit of a softie and does worry about everything , I know I should probably tell him but I don’t want to upset him unnecessarily. I’ve already told my daughter and she just said " oh ok " ? xx

Hi Lilly May I’m doing ok I think was rushed in to hospital a week ago with a low blood count and 38.4C temperature I had to stay in for 4 days but at home now and better than I was. Having assessment tomorrow and 2nd Chemo on the 1st October so see how that goes. I’ve lost most my hair now which although warned didn’t think it would after the first one. With telling your kids I do what sorry can’t remember name suggested about being a big boy and mummy etc. I told my nephews 8 yrs old 7 years old and 5 years old Auntie has a bug inside her and the Dr needs to zap it and then the Dr needs to see what happens but I will be ok. To that they answered so you’ll have a needle in your arm and a bandage so you don’t see it. I smile and said yes. I know it’s a bit different in your case but you could change it a bit to suit your kids. Hope I’ve help and not talked a load of rubbish. I wish you well with it. Please let me know what happens. X
