Hi all my name is Sarah and a newbie to the site. I was recently diagnosed in Nov last year with Dcis grade 2.I went for a mastectomy end of November. Bloody hardest thing to decide ever. I had my husband with me but never felt so alone. Healed well no probs wasnt as bad as I thought. Surgeon said it hadnt spread to nodes and left breast was also clear. No chemo or radio just put on low dosage of Tamoxifen. Sat here last night and felt a lump. Am I being paranoid they said it hadnt spread should I go to Doctors who will then refer me to breast clinic then bloody prodding and being messed about with starts again. I have a fantastic family and friend circle but deep down they just dont understand. Would love to make some new friends. Advice would be appreciated. Thank you
Hey Sarah. My name is Bobbie I’m 42 …I was diagnosed in April, had a mastectomy in May, then 6 cycles of chemo, like you now on tamoxifen for the next 10 Years …
We’re u able to have a reconstruction straight away? I have to wait for atleast a year before mine ![]()
I think you should do what you think is right for you, it’s easy for people to say that your just paranoid , but you know your own body…personally if I found a lump in my breast I would go back to the doctors, better to be safe than sorry
but then that’s me…
There is a lot of nice people on here that will give you a lot of support and advice
Big hugs
Bobbie xx
Hey Sarah,
I’m Jos old 33yr I was also diagnosed with Stage 2 DCIS, like you I had the lump, my nipple and three lymph nodes and it hadn’t spread elsewhere, the margins also came back clear. I found it lonely and people who were there at the begining have slowly filtered off so much so I don’t see many people now. I have a hardening where the nipple used to be and which is also where the lump was and I was told its the scar tissue where everything is healing underneath. I have decided against reconstruction for my nipple as nobody but me and my partner see it, please feel free to add me . xxx
