Hi I’m new on here! I’m due to have a wide local excision op very soon and I wondered what to expect from the op in terms of pain and recovery time etc ? Thankyou
Welcome to the forum @Stillloveadisco .
You could also maybe post in the Surgery section of the forum or Recently diagnosed with breast cancer section as once the nurses respond to your post the thread will be closed . Best of luck with your surgery .
I’ve had 3 WLE. The first one was my first ever surgery at age 46, 1 year ago. I was scared but it was all fine. I was home for my dinner. Recovery wise, it was ok. I didn’t have any pain really and the exercises were easy. I had a small seroma that didnt need draining. For me, i was back at work after 2 weeks. If you do have any recovery issues, your breast care nurse will help. Make sure you do the simple exercises regularly and get out for daily walks. All the best for your upcoming op. X
