I had my follow up appointment after my yearly scans today (diagnosed Nov 2022, lumpectomy June 2023 - HER2+ ER+) and unfortunately they have saw some small calcifications on my MRI - couldn’t see on mammograms or ultrasound. They did an ultrasound biopsy but have said if that’s comes back negative they would still want to do a MRI or mammogram guided biopsy.
Trying to stay positive but I know it’s likely it could be a small reoccurrence - I know there is also a possibility it’s benign. Surgeon said they would remove. My worry is that I would need to do chemo again
Has anyone else had similar a biopsy for calcifications post yearly check up?
Hi, I had calcifications seen on mammogram a couple of years after initial diagnosis. I had a vacuum biopsy under mammogram. It was benign. They left a clip in as a future marker. I have had no problems since. I hope you get results similar very soon.
Hi, I was diagnosed tnbc Oct 21. Chemo and radiotherapy in 22. Last year I was recalled on my mammogram for calsifications. They did a 3D mammogram and said they are happy to leave them. It has been a worry and I am waiting on my mammogram results on my recent mammogram. I just have to trust them but it is so scary. I thjnk they look at the shape the size and cluster of them but I would have felt better if I had of had a biopsy to make sure. Good luck x
