Hi all, I hope you are all doing well. I had an HR+ tumor, and I went through 16 rounds of chemo and then two lumpectomy surgeries. Unfortunately, a month ago, I felt a new lump on the same breast, and after the biopsy, it turned out to be a tumor. The problem is that in this period I was treated with radiotherapy, planned 33 sessions, but only completed 22 and had to quit it because of the recurrence three days ago. When it comes to surgery, doctors have different ideas about the reconstruction. A doctor says it is too risky to put an expander or implant because of the effects of radiotherapy, and the other suggests that they can do it in one operation simultaneously, mastectomy and implants in the same operation. I really cannot decide what to do since the complications are too risky and even doctors cannot reach a consensus. Even my skin is in a bad condition because of the radiotherapy since I took my last session three days ago. Is there someone who has been in the same or similar situation as me who has to go through surgery after radiotherapy? I’d really like to read your experiences. Thanks for your responses ![]()
