Recurring cyst

Hi all
Just looking for some support and experiences
Two weeks ago I had a mammo and US due to a lump in my breast. They aspirated it as it was a simple cyst with clear fluid and thin walls etc. All good.
Anyway, since then the lump has returned and feels a bit smaller and harder. Obviously I am very concerned. I have another appointment at the BC centre in a fortnight however I feel more worried now than I did in the first place. I spoke to the BC nurse who said the mammogram was clear so not to worry but they are erring on the side of caution
Does anyone have any experience of this and an outcome? Thanks

Dear proofoflife

So sorry to read you’re feeling so anxious, but so understandable, I’m pleased that you spoken to your breast cancer team, sometimes cysts Intend to fill up again, this happened to me.

Fingers crossed this will be the outcome. As you said your mammogram was clear excellent news, please make a few notes before your next appointment if anything is worrying you, as we intend to forget on the day.

We are all here for you, so please come back and let us know how you’re getting on.

With the biggest hugs Tili :rainbow::pray::rainbow:

Thank you so much for your kind reply.
I think I’m panicked as I read a refilled cyst is a sign of or could be hiding a cancer if it happens in a short time.
I just wish it hadn’t come back!

Maybe, give the breast cancer nurses on this forum, a call for a chat they are so kind, caring and understanding, maybe chatting would put you mind at rest, as your appointment is still two weeks away.

Take good care, thinking of you

I had what was called benign cystic breast disease when I was younger. Had to have them aspirated quite regularly. It improved after menopause when I was 52 but still got recalled after mammograms sometimes. Got breast cancer at age 67 but probably not related to earlier troubles. So try not to worry.:slightly_smiling_face:

How old are you ?
When you go back , please ask them how dense your breasts are .
This has a big impact on what shows on a mammogram.
If they are dense , it’s harder to differentiate the tissue from a tumour .
More likely to be dense if you are older.
I’m glad that you are going back .

Hi I’m 44.
They said both the mammo and US were normal but the US was pretty quick other than aspirating the cyst
