Hi all, I am new to this forum, so apologies if this topic may have been covered somewhere else. I recently had an ultrasound scan and a FNA of what turned out to be an infected, but benign, cyst in my breast. Since having this done, I have noticed an area very close to where the needle was inserted (and definitely where the sticking plaster was sitting) of skin that is red nad at first had what looked like tiny pimples on it. the pimples seem to have gone, but the redness is still there. No pain or anything, I’m just wondering if this is something I should be heading back to the doctor with or if I am over reacting to what could just be due to the sticking plaster. Since my experience of finding the initial lump (which has now gone) I am incredibly nervous about anything to do with my breasts. It’s funny, there is no follow up on good news. I’m relieved it was benign, but still have lots of anxieties about my body. Bit of shock I think, everything happened so fast I’ve not really had chance to take it in. Anyway, if anyone has any ideas for me with this then I’d appreciate it xxx

Hi Haleym
when I had my biopsy I had red lines developed and I think it was bruising. Yours sounds like it could be an allergy to the plasters or a bruise. I would give it time. Anywhere else you could ask a pharmacist but not on your breast.
You are right there is not so much help for good news. There have been threads from lots of people with symptoms, they are of course delighted it’s not cancer, but still want to know what’s wrong with them. Even family and friends are just happy it’s not worse.
you could give the help line a ring, you have had a scare and sometimes it takes a while to switch the worry off.
take care
