I have been taking exemestane for 2 weeks following lumpectomy in April. I am experiencing reduced vision in one eye. Should I stop taking the tablets till I can speak to my oncologist and should I be worried?
Hello Longmuir 1949
Thanks for your post.
It’s understandable to be worried about reduced vision in one eye since you started taking exemestane.
Everyone reacts differently to drugs and some people have more side effects than others. Some hormone treatments can cause eye problems or changes to the eye, although it’s less common with exemestane However, as you have noticed this change and you are experiencing vision that is less clear than usual, we would suggest you contact your breast care nurse, treatment team or GP as soon as possible. They can arrange for you to see an optician if needed and advise also on whether you should stop taking the tablets.
Do call our helpline if you would like to talk this through or have any further questions.
