D DAY 2day ive been booked in for the 23rd for mx how scared am i have to have all my lymph out as well go back next week to see about reconstruction you think you have got time to think about loosing your bust but until 2day i havnt it feels so strange like a peice of you is being taken away How do you prepare yourself for this so much information any advice
Oh, Elaine, I do feel for you; it is such a scary time. I expect you feel your life is spiralling out of control. I didn’t have a MX but my sister did and she said the physical after-effects were okay but of course the psychological effects are another thing. I had a WLE with a full axillary clearance. The axillary clearance is a more ‘invasive’ procedure and does leave you with some post-op problems. For example, your arm will feel very heavy for a while and you may find some areas of numbness continue for a while. It is a small price to pay for your continued health.
