Repeat biopsy

Hi, I’m new here and very confused!

I have a hard, fixed 3cm lump in my breast with nipple retraction. I had a contrast mammogram and ultrasound last week and biopsies taken. The doctor told me then that this was cancer but isolated and my lymph nodes looked fine.
He said there would be results and a treatment plan ready for my appointment today.

however, the doctor I saw today said the biopsies were showing as benign but they don’t accept this result. She examined me again and said she thinks it is cancer too but can’t book me in for repeat biopsy for two weeks, followed by a week wait.
The word benign felt like good news, but she said it’s more likely cancer than anything else.
I have no idea what to make of it and have already driven myself half mad with the waiting. I also feel like a huge fraud being so sure I had cancer and now I don’t - or do I?!

anyway, does anyone have any experience or words of wisdom for me? Is it worth getting a private biopsy to make it quicker?

Thank you x

Dear Shananalalala,

So very sorry to hear what you have been going through, I’m not surprised you don’t know if your coming or going at the moment, together with all the waiting around for more tests plus results,

You could get a getting a private biopsy, which may put your mind a rest this could give you a quicker outcome, however I don’t know if the hospital would accept these results I think maybe give your breast cancer nurse a call tell her how your feeling asked if there is any possible of your appointment being brought forward.

Keep posting, let us know how you are feeling, hopefully a good outcome for you.

Take care, wishing you well. Big hugs Tili :rainbow: :rainbow:
