To the Breast Cancer survivors…how long after your cancer treatment finishes…ie lumpectomy, chemo, radio…so from operation to end of treatment it’s been 12 months…when should you have another mamagram?
I’ve got my first one on October 17th and follow up appointment with my surgeon on November 7th which is exactly one year from diagnosis. Hope you get yours sorted.
I’ve had two yearly mammogram checks now and both have been on the anniversary of diagnosis which was late July rather than surgery (September) or end of rads (late November).
Thanks…im going to speak to my oncologist…as i was diagnosed in June 23…Had an operation in August & September 23…finished chemo/radio June 24…I have a lot of pain in my breast and its still very lumpy,so want to get a mammogram to make sure its gone…its been 12 months sunce last operation…Thanks fir yiur advice.
I had annual mammograms following treatment for five years then back to every three years
I got my first one one the anniversary of my surgery, every trust possibly varies so I would check with your breast clinic, but if you have any concerns get in touch with them that’s what they are there for.
Another date (or thereabouts) for mammogram on diagnosis day here.
I have had three follow up mammograms since my diagnosis in November 2020, and am due my fourth one, all of which have been around the anniversary of my diagnosis. I was advised at the time that I would have annual mammograms for a period of five years following diagnosis and treatment.
Hi
Im on annual checks and mammograms but some Trusts work on bi annual. Check with your team
Mine was a year after surgery with follow up for another 4 years.
I checked after 18 months - They had forgotten me!
I chased my first annual and the breast nurses swore they had sent the referral to radiology but I wasn’t on their list. So it’s important to know when we are due and if within a month before you haven’t heard chase them
Hi, I had lumpectomy and radiotherapy last year. Will have yearly follow ups and mammograms for 5 years. Had my first a year after finishing treatment x
