Hello!
Got path results yesterday. Tumour (mixed type) 55mm, grade 2, er/pr +, HER -, 10/16 nodes cancerous and extracapsular, having a CT for metastatic spread. No clear idea on timings - just told unhelpfully vaguely weeks not months for oncology and CT appointments.
I’m a little concerned at the low number of nodes removed.
Anyone with similar diagnosis?
We lost our 12 year old son to a brain tumour last November so I’m pretty numb about the breast cancer.

I am so, so sorry at the loss of your 12 year old son. What a lot you have been through already

In the light of your loss and grief, I think it’s totally understandable that you feel numb about your results. I had a full lymph node clearance and there were only 12 - I think the number we have can vary from person to person. I also had extracapsular spread but the surgeon told me that as they had removed them all, it wasn’t significant.
You will get a lot of support on here and I’m glad you have posted.

Sorry to hear what you have been going through. I had a full node clearance and they only took 8. Like Fran has said I think we all have different amounts.

When I had my results I was 3/25 which meant 3 out of the 25 lymph nodes removed where cancerous. We all have a different number and I personally thought 25 seemed a bit excessive lol
