Got the call this morning: cancer out! Lymph nodes clear…. On to radiotherapy now.
The IDC had shrunk from 25 to 18mm after being in tamoxifen for 10 weeks before surgery due to delays.
Not sure why I feel so weird? Why am I not excited? Such a weird response. Any one else feel like me or is this wrong?
Hi
There’s no right or wrong response to any situation. You’ve been on tenterhooks for weeks and it could have gone the other way so you’re bound to feel a bit numb, rather than excited. Let’s face it, you have the unknowns of radiotherapy ahead (and everyone responds differently - some find it horrible, personally I found it a doddle after chemo). Hopefully you won’t find it hard. Nevertheless, it’s time-consuming and very draining so what’s to feel excited about?
It you feel conflicted about the news, I would say that’s sounds healthy. Don’t worry about how you should feel, just go with the flow.
Good luck with the radiotherapy x
