Hi all
I’ve been worrying myself with this for a few days so thought I’d ask around. I had a WLE, Sentinel Node removal and then a second scrape just before Christmas. I’ve noticed I’m feeling some discomfort or soreness around the ribs under the affected boob. I can’t tell whether it’s just a result of the surgery or if it’s something more sinister. I’m conscious that every twinge or ache suddenly feels more terrifying at this point, but in addition to the anxiety of waiting for my next results I’m starting to drive myself a bit nuts.
Hello Lexxy - I had the same op at the beginning of December and have something called cording both under my arm and below my breast down the outside of the rib cage. I have managed to reduce it under my arm with lots of stretching exercise, but the cording underneath is being very stubborn. If I massage it, it feels like a bruised patch but you can actually feel the ‘cord’ structure beneath the skin. Apparently it’s hardening of the lymph channels.

I had seen people mention cording Jane but was too scared to google so thank you for explaining. I can’t feel anything in that area so I don’t think it’s that.
The lump was towards the armpit side and it was quite close to the edge if that makes sense. I’ve finally had my next appointment through which is Monday, so perfect time to ask my BCN and see what she thinks ? My back has been aching as well so I think I’ve maybe just put things out a bit as I’ve been off work and had a lot of sofa time.
Just found this thread. I too have cording down my right side (surgery side) from my breast down my ribs to my abdomen. I am 5 weeks post WLE and SNB. Have regained full movement in my arm…ready for radiotherapy. However my cord is rather stubborn! Have had physio therapy again today and have to go back again next week. Also se e my oncologust next Friday yoo. Hoping yo start Radio the following week. Seems to be dragging on. Anyway I feel 2/3 cords right side but ine is quite thick and bumpy. Physio seems to think it is lymphatic system but wants me to also ask oncologist at my appt. It feels sore and bruised in that area at the bottom of my ribs xxxx
I wear sports bras. Xxx
