Ribbon Walk for Breast Cancer Care - discounted entry

Dear All

Our Ribbon Walk Team has asked us to put this up on our forum as a special discounted offer.

Pink Ribbonwalk – discounted entry for forum users

If any of you are thinking about joining in with one of this year’s Pink Ribbonwalks, we are offering Breast Cancer Care forum users £5 off the £30 registration fee. You will also be included in a prize draw to win 2 tickets for the Breast Cancer Care Carol Concert.

Set against the backdrop of some of the UK’s most magnificent stately homes, and taking in the beauty of the British countryside, the Breast Cancer Care Pink Ribbonwalk is a day to celebrate those who move and inspire us.

The 10 or 20 mile circular walks are also a way to unite to make a difference to the 46,000 men and women diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK every year, and their friends and family who support them.

The Pink Ribbonwalks are taking place at four different venues around the UK in 2010:

  • Petworth House in West Sussex on 8 May

  • Scone Palace in Perthshire on 15 May

  • Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire on 22 May

  • Harewood House in West Yorkshire on 5 June

To enter and for further details please visit: pinkribbonwalk.org.uk or call 0870 145 0101.

Quote the code NW000 to get £5 off the £30 registration fee and to be included in a prize draw to win 2 tickets for the Breast Cancer Care Carol Concert.

Hi

Do we know if there is going to be anything in the North East Area?

I would love to support something.

Thanks

Krissy

Hi Krissy

The Ribbonwalks are just in those four locations, but we do get involved with other events as well.

For example, we support entrants into the Bupa Great North Run, and we also support runners in shorter fun runs nearer to home. We can send out training packs, running vests and fundraising materials. You can find out more here: events.breastcancercare.org.uk/server/show/nav.8

Across the border in Scotland, we do a Ben Nevis walk (a little more strenuous…) events.breastcancercare.org.uk/server/show/nav.106

But you can also do something closer to home, like hold a Strawberry Tea, raffle, or other event. If you’d like to get in touch with us for more ideas, you can contact our North & Midlands team on <script type=“text/javascript”>eval(unescape(‘%64%6f%63%75%6d%65%6e%74%2e%77%72%69%74%65%28%27%3c%61%20%68%72%65%66%3d%22%6d%61%69%6c%74%6f%3a%66%75%6e%64%72%61%69%73%69%6e%67%6e%6f%72%74%68%40%62%72%65%61%73%74%63%61%6e%63%65%72%63%61%72%65%2e%6f%72%67%2e%75%6b%22%3e%66%75%6e%64%72%61%69%73%69%6e%67%6e%6f%72%74%68%40%62%72%65%61%73%74%63%61%6e%63%65%72%63%61%72%65%2e%6f%72%67%2e%75%6b%3c%2f%61%3e%27%29%3b’))</script> or 0114 2636471. I hope that helps, Krissy.

Katinthe middle - see you are asking after locations in North East. I live near Darlington, where are you from? Marli.

Hi Leah

Thats a great help. Thanks very much.

Hi Marli

Yeah I’m a North East Girl, I live in Northumberland. I really want to do something to help fundraising. I’m doing a zipwire across the River Tyne in October for Marie Curie but it would be nice to do something specifically for BreastCancer Care. I’ll have a good look around.

Thanks again

Krissy xx

Hi All
Anyone thinking of doing the Harewood House walk on 5th June? Can’t make my mind up. If do, will be the 10 mile walk as 20 miles far to energetic. Would be nice to have company.
Cheers
Margaret
